This summer we built our first home on a farm we purchased a couple years ago. We talked to a couple different builders and decided to have CVM Custom Homes build our forever home. Our experience could not have been more enjoyable and fun, really fun!

Our builder, Chris Van Metre, ran our project as though he was building the home for himself. He was out on the site checking every step of the way to make sure everything was done perfectly. We received daily updates with timelines and he even sent pictures of progress during the day when he was there. His attention to detail was such that we never called with concerns or problems. Our calls were always returned the same day, and the calls we made were to make an addition to our original plans. We never had any complaints or issues with trades not being there. They always were there per his timeline. 

In July, when we started building Chris had said we would be in the house for Thanksgiving. We moved in 2 weeks ahead of Thanksgiving! Our incredible builder had us in 2 weeks ahead of schedule! Craig and I can honestly say that there are so many wonderful compliments for having CVM build our house. Chris was there when we picked out everything from our cabinets, to lighting, flooring, hardware, Hardiplank. When our granite was accidentally released he drove to Baltimore and face-timed us so we could pick out new (much prettier) slabs. Chris also has impeccable taste so often if we couldn’t decide he was the person who offered his advice at our request. 

We didn’t finish the basement but now, six weeks later we are designing the basement with him. We would never work with anyone else. Our next home will also be built by CVM Custom Homes because no one else could do a more professional, beautiful job. Thank you Chris for our forever home.

A few years ago, my husband and I bought a beautiful lot to build our dream house on. Chris Van Metre made our dream a reality. Chris built our home with such care and precision you would have thought he was building his own home. Chris was very easy to work with and didn’t mind our occasional design changes. One time I showed him a picture that was “kind of” how I wanted a mantel to look. After explaining what I didn’t like about my picture, he said he knew just the guy to craft what I wanted. It turned out so beautiful I asked for an identical one for another fireplace. Chris paid attention to even the smallest detail, making sure that every inch of our home was perfect and just the way we wanted it. There was never a problem he couldn’t quickly solve, or a change he couldn’t or wouldn’t make. Chris made building our custom home so much fun – the way it should always be!
